Does Ring actually state the current firmware version anywhere? Thanks. My doorbell is now showing “up to date” and the snapshot feature is working. maybe it thinks theres an update but there isn’t; maybe it will resolve next time they release one etc. I was already on the plus plan though. Not sure if it even matters but the inconsistencies regarding firmwares is mind blowing. They simply will not and will never admit they have a design problem. I am going to say you are correct sir and my theroy is wrong!

Support has been brutal! It's like there write protected or they shipped out a bunch of prototypes instead of the original doorbells. I was checking it frequently for about 2 weeks and then stopped checking. I just received my firmware update overnight. I do know my chime updated right after I set it up but the doorbell just acting like it was dropped on it's head or somthing....LOL!

I haven't tried calling support yet. I've spent 47 years in the tech industry, including some time at Google, and I've never seen anything like this. Sir you are correct and I stand wrong! They want you happy and with a working device and that is great customer support.

Got a question? Just wondering if everyone's Chime Pro states that it is "Up to Date" or shows a firmware version.. My doorbell and floodlights have been working fine, no issue with them so far after exchanging a defective one and getting an ORBI WiFi network but in the last few weeks my 3 Chime Pro's have been offline because they are unable to update themselves even after downloading the update. That is suppossed to mean the Firmware needs to be updated. I'm not sure how long it took to update. Ring customer service reminds me of the old Bell Telephone service . Ok sir, does it work now? also they pay for everything for the replacment and they pay for the old part to be shipped back to them. My RING doorbell is only working about half correctly and I feel this Firmware update may fix all my issues. Force Firmware to Update on Ring Video Doorbell Pro When I check the Firmware Version in Device Health, it shows Version 1.16.00263 instead of "Up to Date" as it should. I'm keeping the sucker and if the thing updates it updates , if it don't then oh well!

I’ve had the same issue, purchased new last week and can’t get the firmware to update. 1 was showing Up to Date until yesterday but is now showing version 2.1.01005 Been at 2....005 for a few weeks now on my two doorbell pros. if you look at the basic version of the plan you get snapshot so you won't get this until the trial ends and your plan becomes active then you should see the update. I do find it odd they are including snapshot in the basic version and not on the free one, I signed up for the Basic after my trial runs out. I’ve been on the phone and emailing with Tech Support over the last couple of days. Seems like a smart, useful, pretty common sense and standard thing for a software company to do, but I can't find it anywhere. It looks like ring pushed out a patch to fix this overnight. So I have NO clue what firmware my spotlight camera is on, and NO clue what version my doorbell SHOULD be on. It is regularly updated by Ring to improve the reliability and functionality of your device.

There has been no change. Since yesterday it changed to version 'up to date'. Well! Luckily I didnt have to dance in circles. I have motion detections and live views every day, when check, the date of the healthcheck changes but the firmware version doesnt nor is the doorbell in update mode. I’d have to say your theory is incorrect.
